What is a degree programme stage?

Each degree programme is divided into degree programme stages of about 60 credits. E.g. a bachelor degree of 180 credits is divided into 3 degree programme stages of 60 credits. They are referred to as degree programme stage 1, degree programme stage 2 and degree programme stage 3.

Students register for the degree programme stage in which they follow most credits. In consequence the course schedule is fixed for most of the courses. Students determine their degree programme stage when they (re)register.

Only new students are automatically registered in the first degree programme stage of their degree programme.  It is possible to have your degree programme stage adapted by Student Administrative Services Centre to the degree programme stage in which you follow most credits.
